Production
Thanks to everyone who attended our production at The Town Hall on 30th November. What a fantastic success it was! We apologise for any delays that evening and truly appreciate your unwavering support and patience towards our students.
For many of our performers, this was a brave new experience, with several students taking the stage for the first time. We are incredibly proud of the hard work each student dedicated to creating such a memorable show.

Lizzy Marvin Outstanding Award
To honour one of our most cherished students, we’ve established the “Lizzy Marvin Outstanding Award.” This annual award will recognise a student who shines through their talent, kindness, dedication, and willingness to give their all, just like Lizzy did.
We're thrilled to announce that this year's award goes to Conrad Goddard. Conrad stepped up at the last minute to fill a crucial role in our play and consistently demonstrated initiative by assisting the crew. His immense talent for comedy, combined with his beautiful singing voice, added significant flair to this production. Conrad has participated in the LA World Championships of Performing Arts in previous years and will perform with NZ Opera in July 2025. Currently, he is the Understudy for Emmett in MUSOC’s production of Legally Blonde. Good luck, Conrad! We know you will excel!

New York Workshops
In mid-November, Singing Stars had the wonderful opportunity to host NYCDA in Christchurch, where they conducted auditions and workshops for enthusiastic students. A big thank you to everyone who participated and bravely performed monologues in front of the crowd! Singing Stars is proud to be the official partner of the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts.
NYCDA provided $1,000 scholarships for their Summer Holiday programme to all qualifying attendees and has started contacting those who auditioned. Congratulations to everyone who has received positive news so far!

LA News
Next year, Magenta Ogle, Euan Lewis, and Isabelle Tagos will have the incredible opportunity to fly to LA and compete in the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA). Over the past few months, Euan, Magenta, and Isabelle have been actively fundraising for this exciting experience. If you're interested in supporting their journey, please reach out!
This competition offers students a chance to enhance their performing arts skills and gain invaluable experience. Participants can earn medals and scholarships to esteemed drama schools, just like our student Harriet, who was awarded a scholarship to The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts!
Often referred to as the “Talent Olympics” for aspiring performers, WCOPA features exciting highlights such as a Parade of Nations, a Worldstars Boot Camp, and a global webcast showcasing the selection of the Grand Champions. With over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships and prizes available, many alumni express that “this event changed my life.”
WCOPA not only promotes growth and development as a performer but also enhances skills in performing, training, auditioning, and overall artistry.
