Jacqueline is a classically trained singer and qualified pianist who has performed shows and recitals in London, and has performed at various venues in Christchurch.
She has helped students achieve significant success in their NCEA exams, in auditions and provides high quality specialist tuition. She also has students competing on the international stage!
She loves bringing the joy of music to her students while developing their confidence and skills!

Piano and Guitar
Ethan
Ethan is a Christchurch-based musician, composer, teacher and performer. He has experience performing in bands on piano, guitar and also as a lead vocalist locally and around the South Island.
Having graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music Arts, Ethan enjoys teaching piano/keyboards, guitar, ukulele and vocals to all, young and old, and helping people experience the beauty and blessings that music has given him during his life!

Grace
Grace has been teaching music for the past 5 years. Specialising in guitar and ukulele, she helps learners achieve their personal musical goals. She has a wide knowledge of music theory, musicianship and all genres, and is keen to teach anyone who is interested.
She has been playing guitar for a large portion of my life and she has had the privilege of performing around Christchurch and Selwyn these past few years. She is continuing to extend her knowledge and experience as she enters her third year of study at Ara for her Bachelor of Music Arts degree.
Teaching out of her home studio in Rolleston, she has written a locally printed guitar manual that contains all the music we look at, with room for adding songs of your choice. Last year, one of her students rose to the opportunity to participate in the NZMEB classical grade exams and has done very well.


Guitar, Ukuele, and Bass
Hamish
Hamish is a Christchurch-based musician, teacher and performer. He has a Bachelor of Contemporary Performance (with honors) and specialises in contemporary performance based in rock and pop genres, and jazz based harmony/theory.
He will be offering both adult and children’s lessons. His tutorship could help you to nail that guitar solo, build your rhythm chops, develop improvisational skills and songwriting to help you on your journey to pursuing a musical career.

Matt
Matt is a qualified music tutor in a various of instruments including: guitar, bass, ukulele, keyboard, and beginner drums.
Matt has a bachelor of music where he majored in guitar and minored in keys.
He is an enthusiastic, supportive tutor who cultivates learning in a positive and engaging environment.

Sophie
Sophie is a dynamic and innovative music teacher with a passion for sharing musical knowledge, seeking a challenging role to leverage creative skills and contribute to spirited projects in a collaborative environment.
Sophie has a Masters of Music after studying in Queensland, Australia. Her specialities lie in Piano and Violin.
Sophie has strong verbal and written communication skills and has proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams to achieve project goals.

Drums
Sam
Sam has helped budding drummers find their musical feet on the drums for over 25 years.
Although born in Christchurch, Sam has mainly lived overseas teaching and performing in Dubai, Canada, USA, Japan and Korea. He is a versatile musician who loves playing all styles of music. Sam provides practical and fun lessons whilst covering the fundamentals and techniques necessary to play and perform drums.
Whether the student is playing drums as a hobby or they want to pursue music as a career, Sam is happy to help them on their way.

Lead Tutor & Administrator - Drama
Harmony
Harmony has an exceeding passion for theatre, improv, and learning new things. She highly believes that every individual has their own spark to themselves which can amplify any scene in their own way. She thinks this is important to encourage and strongly attaches it to her teaching style.
Harmony has been doing theatre since she was 8 years old, and only recently have begun tutoring. Her strongest fields are improv, character work, and finding the fun.
Currently, Harmony is hired as a Court Jester at The Court Theatre and she is always looking to be taught something new by my peers and fellow jesters. She is constantly learning. Alongside theatre, She is super interested in art, film, and a nice cafe. But, don't get her to look up at the sky as she has a fear of falling into it!


Lead Tutor - Musical Theatre
Jess
Jess strives to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can develop their skills, express themselves, grow confidence, and shine on stage. She holds a Certificate of Performing Arts from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts and a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Primary) from the University of Canterbury. She has seven years of experience teaching performing arts. This includes drama, musical theatre, vocals, acting.
She is also a primary school teacher and this allows her to bring both industry expertise and educational knowledge to her teaching. Jess's training spans jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, hip hop, ballet, and tap dance, allowing her to offer a well-rounded approach to performance.


Lead Tutor - Musical Theatre & Drama
John
John is a versatile performer and theatre artist born and raised in Ōtautahi Christchurch. He has performed with leading companies across Aotearoa including New Zealand Opera, Toi Toi Opera, and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. His diverse career highlights include touring nationally with Operatunity, serving as tour manager for New Zealand Opera's Opera in Schools program (engaging over 10,000 children), and making his assistant directing debut with Luminaires' acclaimed production of Heathers: The Musical. John has worked extensively with Pop-up Globe across Australasia as an actor, swing, and vocal coach, and is a founding member of Third Bear and former member of Blind Cupid Shakespeare Company. As an educator, he has taught at The Court Theatre and Greenstone Academy. John trained at New York City's prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting.

Ruthie
Ruthie has been dancing since the age of three, training in almost every style, including contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and more.
She has competed across New Zealand and Australia, gaining extensive experience in both competition and performance. Her passion for the performing arts has led her to the stage at the Court Theatre, where she has had the privilege of performing in various productions.
Currently, Ruthie is studying a Bachelor of Communications at the University of Canterbury, specializing in Strategic Communications and Marketing. She is passionate about combining her love for dance and performance with storytelling and creative strategy, bringing artistry and expression to everything she does.


Assistant Tutor - Drama & Musical Theatre
Tom
Tom is a drama assistant and aspiring educator with years of community theatre experience.
Currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary), he enjoys helping students develop confidence, creativity, and communication skills through drama
As well as teaching with Singing Stars, Tom is also well versed with microphones and Stage Manages on the side.

Isabel
Isabel is passionate about drama and loves seeing students grow in confidence. She has been involved with the arts from a very young age and it has become a massive passion of hers. She has experience in a variety of productions across Christchurch, from Shakespeare plays to musicals, providing her a well-rounded background in the arts.
Isabel believes in creating an environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves and develop a love for the arts. She was previously a student at Singing Stars and she is super excited to teach where she once learnt.


Assistant Tutor - Drama & Musical Theatre
Euan
Christchurch Born and theatrically raised, Euan has been performing in Ōtautahi since he was 7 and never looked back. From one drama school to the next, Euan attended the likes of the Court Theatre, Original Scripts and now Singing stars! Each offering different skills and knowledge that Euan uses in his performances and daily life. Euan believes the biggest benefit of performing is meeting new people and creating life long friendships. He hopes to inspire the youth of Ōtautahi to step out of their comfort zone and into their own journey of creativity in the arts.
When Euan isn’t performing or teaching, he is saving money for his big trip to L.A California for the World championship of performing arts. In July, he will fly over to America to represent New Zealand in acting on the world stage. Euan hopes his trip will benefit other performers to dream big and never give up.
