In regards to auditions, they are wanting the following:

Film & Television Performance, Media Production for the Actor & Theatre Performance:

- Prepare a one-minute contemporary (1950s-present), age-appropriate monologue from a published play, tv show or film.

- Make sure your monologue is well-prepared and memorized, as the faculty auditor will workshop the monologue with you. We strongly recommend reading the full play or script to fully understand the context and the character you are portraying, as students may be asked questions about this character’s motivations inside the larger piece.

Musical Theatre:

- Prepare a one-minute contemporary (1950s-present), age-appropriate monologue from a published play, tv show, or film, and 32 bars of a musical theater song.

- Bring sheet music marked to your 32-bar cut for the accompanist. Make sure the monologue and song are well-prepared and memorized. The faculty auditor will workshop either the song or monologue with the student. We recommend reading the full play or script to fully understand the character the student is portraying.
